During Years 7 and 8, the girls are taught in mixed-ability tutor groups. They follow a bespoke Science course which provides a wealth of practical-based material with extension work for the more able.
In Year 9 the girls are put into in sets, with the three sciences taught separately. All students are prepared for Edexcel IGCSE Sciences and by Year 10 they will either follow the Triple Science or Double Science IGCSE course. The vast majority take Triple Sciences.
At all times the emphasis is on practical work supported by the latest IPad technology.

Enrichment and extra-curricular
We run regular trips to CERN in Switzerland, one of the world's largest and most respected centres in the world for scientific research. And to the beautiful Gower coast to investigate the local ecology.
Closer to home, we take girls to At-Bristol, the Bristol Botanic Gardens and to events at Bristol University. We are also involved in the Hisparc Cosmic Ray Project with Bristol University having installed detectors on the school roof, and in 2014 we opened our own observatory with computerised optical telescope and weather station. Our extra-curricular Science Clubs are also extremely popular.
We regularly welcome high-profile speakers to school. Most recently it was eminent scientist Maggie Aderin-Pocock, presenter of TV's Sky at Night and Stargazing, and Science Educator Dr Emily Grossman.
