Our warm, nurturing pastoral care combined with high expectations of positive attitudes, determination and achievement, create confident learners who are willing to take a risk. Making a mistake is part of the learning process and our girls learn that this equates to making progress.
Redmaids’ High Junior School is a unique place and visiting us is the best way to understand the warmth and atmosphere that contribute to a fabulous place to learn. We want our girls to put themselves forward and ‘have a go’, finding out what they are good at and what they need to work on. How are you going to know if you like caving if you haven’t tried it? Who would have thought that maths club would have such a huge uptake where maths doesn’t ‘feel’ like maths? We introduce our girls to new ideas, thoughts and activities through a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular opportunities, enabling them to make informed choices as they move ahead into senior school and beyond.
Busy days are filled with variety and a mix of long and short lessons. Whilst some lessons are taught by subject specialists, classteachers take the pastoral lead and focus on pupils’ well-being. Small class sizes enable us to know our girls well and provide the support they need to flourish. Subjects have weekly allocations and the importance of music, art and sport are recognised alongside the core subjects of maths, English and science.
I look forward to meeting you when you visit, either at one of our Junior School Visiting Events or at a convenient time for you, where you will be introduced to the range of opportunities and atmosphere that makes Redmaids’ High such a special place. For now, why not watch the film above which demonstrates the unique ethos of our Junior School.
