We are delighted to confirm we are hosting a major #WomenInSTEM conference on Friday 18 May, which is attracting Year 10 girls from 18 schools across Bristol and the South West region.
Our aim is to help young women understand the diverse range of career opportunities available in science, technology, engineering and maths. During the conference students will hear from industry experts and leading academics to help them consider the skills and qualifications they might need to further their own ambitions.
The programme of events for the day includes:
* A keynote address from Dr Emily Grossman, expert in molecular biology and genetics, science communicator, honorary STEM ambassador with STEMNET www.emilygrossman.co.uk
* Workshops on topics ranging from Crime Scene Investigation to Aerospace Engineering and Machine Learning with Dyson to Cyber Security
* A Q&A session with some of the experts attending
* A special performance of Ada Ada Ada www.adatheshow.com, which is being staged in partnership with the University of Bristol.
