Students reach the national final

Farin, Evelyn and Niki from Year 12 have won the Regional Final of the Rotary Youth Speaks public speaking competition.

Held in Swindon last weekend, the regional final attracted winning schools from across the area, so the standard of debate was particularly high.

Reporting on the event, English Teacher Mr Kim said, "The girls delivered their talk entitled Why true love is not the stuff of pop songs with great confidence and humour, Niki also won an additional award for Best Speaker of the Day."

Having won the Bristol and District finals earlier this year, the girls will  now go on to the National Final, being held on Saturday 12 May and try emulate the success of our national champions of two years ago.

We wish the girls every success in the final round!
