This week we took our Infants on an ‘Outdoor Education’ adventure. Well, strictly speaking, it wasn't outdoors, as we visited the Warehouse Climbing Centre in Gloucester for a climbing and artificial caving session.
Everyone from Years 1 and 2 went and had a fantastic time. The ball pool in the cave, which represents the water-filled sumps that you get in real caves, was clearly one of the high-lights.
Our Outdoor Education Co-ordinator said, “I was so impressed by their enthusiasm, courage and communications skills, telling the child behind what was coming up next and supporting each other through the cave. It was wonderful to see.”
Back at school, several children asked when they could go again, and said how excited they are about being in Year 3 when they can start the real caving and climbing trips.
