Gabblers Club Grand Final

This week, Katy in Year 12 (pictured centre) represented Redmaids' High School at the 2017/18 Gabblers Club Grand Final.

She has attended six dinners throughout the year, speaking at three of them, and delivered her fourth speech last night to a rapt audience.

The title was "Splinter Groups", not an easy one by any means, but Katy rose to the challenge admirably. Covering subjects as diverse as Monsters Inc, playground politics, Christianity and Brexit, Katy wove together a sophisticated and thought-provoking speech which she delivered confidently, eloquently and with real style!

She was supported on the night by Mrs Rodliffe, Mr Cooper and Mrs Davies, as well as family and friends.

Throughout her Gabbling journey, judges have been impressed by her ability to structure her speeches cleverly, learn her material thoroughly, and deliver it with a combination of dynamism and composure:  this was certainly true last night.

She was awarded 5th place in this competition, and won two tickets to see Bristol City or the Bristol Flyers basketball team as well as a £25 gift token.  Well done, Katy!  All at Redmaids' High are very proud of you.
