We are delighted to confirm that two of our Year 12 art students have had their artwork accepted online for the Royal Academy Young Artist's Summer Show.
This is quite an achievement given that the standard of work is so high and the judging panel chose just 328 entries to be displayed online in curated collections, out of 6,200 submissions.
Arabella’s piece called ‘Old Hands’ is in the Ambiguous Tales gallery. It’s a pencil drawing on paper and is described as “an artwork that celebrates the life of someone, not through their portrait, but through their hands - often a more honest depiction of a life.”
Lucie’s piece is called 'Little Robots', and it appears in the Artificially Intelligent gallery.
It’s an oil painting on paper which “explores a close encounter with some little mechanical robots. The close-up frame of reference means that we are forced to view the robots in a confrontational manner.”
The online exhibition runs until the 31 December 2019 and there is also a People's Choice award available, so please do share this link with family and friends who may like to vote. You can view the whole exhibition here: https://youngartists.royalacademy.org.uk/
