Today, young women from across the region came to Redmaids' High School for the GSA Head Girls Conference.
The School was delighted to welcome students from Bruton School for Girls, Badminton School, Haberdashers' Monmouth, Truro High School, The Maynard School and Westonbirt School for a leadership workshop lead by Major Kate Philp.
Kate, who in 2013 took part in an expedition to the South Pole with Prince Harry and Walking with the Wounded, now runs Corran Consultancy Ltd, offering leadership and coaching to organisations and individuals. Kate was the first British female soldier in recent operations to lose a limb in combat.
As well as hearing from Kate, the students also took part in discussion groups led by our Head Girl Team, Niki and Emily.
Niki said, "It was such an interesting and productive day. It was great to be able to share ideas with other students from schools across the region, as well as getting to hear from such an inspirational leader as Major Philp."
