Inspirational speaker to mark 100 years since armistice day

This Thursday, former Special Forces Reserve, Jamie Hull, will be coming to Redmaids’ High to give an evening talk on resilience and overcoming adversity to mark 100 years since the end of WW1.

Jamie was 32 years old when his aircraft caught fire during a solo flight.  His only option was to jump from the burning plane. Thankfully, he survived, but sustained third degree burns to over half his body and severe internal injuries from the impact of the fall.

Three years and 61 operations later, he threw himself into a series of major challenges, determined to rebuild his life and give something back to the charities which had supported him.

These days Jamie is a qualified mountaineer and scuba diving instructor, leading expeditions across the world and inspiring people with his never-give-up, anything-is-possible philosophy. His achievements include climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, running the London Marathon, and taking part in Prince Harry’s Invictus Games.

This hour long speaker event is open to the wider community - come along this Thursday at 7.00pm to hear Jamie’s story. Tickets are just £5 and all proceeds from ticket sales will to be donated to the SAS Regimental Association and the Royal British Legion.
