Join us for Bristol's first 48 hour film challenge

Welcome to the 48 Hour Film Challenge

Keen filmmakers, writers, directors, producers and future stars of screen are invited to take part in Bristol’s first 48 Hour Film Challenge this May. Teams from schools and extra-curricular clubs will be given the challenge of making an original film from start to finish in just 48 hours!

Whether you have managed to attend one of our free workshops or not, access to the workshop recording will be available for challenger to see, so that they can brush up their skills!

We have an amazing panel of judges from within the film industry, including Col Needham, the founder and CEO of IMDb, the most famous online database for films, TV shows, video games, and streaming content. Mamma Mia! Screenplay writer Catherine Johnson and Director of the Bristol Encounters Film Festival Rich Warren.

It’s a fun, fast paced, creative challenge for students across the city to get involved with. If you want to get a team registered you can sign up below, or if you have any further questions then email the event organiser, Sarah Bramley Dymond on 48hours@redmaidshigh.co.uk.

Team registration is now open! Sign up your school team, all teams need to be between the ages of 7 and 18 years or Year 3 to Year 13. All teams will need to have an adult Team Leader otherwise known as a parent, who will be our point of contact for the weekend. A Team Leader guide can be found here.

Teams registration closes at 4:30pm, Monday 10th May 2021.

48 Hour Film Challenge Registration form.

All teams must attend the launch event which starts at 4:30pm Friday 14th May 2021, this is where all the teams will receive their individual three elements that must feature in their original films.

All submissions must be received by 4:30pm Sunday 16th May ready for judging.

The £5 film entry fee can be made via bank transfer all the details can be found on the registration form, all the funds will be going to the Babassa Organisation.
