Coming together

We are always keen to hear from our alumnae and run a busy calendar of events where former students can connect and share their experiences with the next generation.

These events also present fantastic opportunities to catch up with your peers and alumnae from across the ages.  They also help you keep up to date with what is happening at Redmaids’ High School.

We offer many ways for current students to connect with experienced professionals to gain valuable insight into further education and careers opportunities. Key events throughout the year include Eights Years On, a Year 12 Networking Supper, Year 10 Careers Conference or our annual Festival of Ideas.

Please update your career information, if you feel you could get involved in some of our mentoring activities by contacting the Development Office at development@redmaidshigh.co.uk.

Eight Years On

'Eight Years on' is a well-established event held in the Autumn Term when girls who left Red Maids’ or Redland High School eight years ago are invited back to speak to current students.

Our Alumnae give a five-minute talk on their experiences since leaving school. These talks cover travels, gap year activities, further education choices and career development.

Networking Supper

At Redmaids’ High School, we understand the importance of developing core life skills alongside academic progress.  Our Annual Networking Supper is held early in the Spring Term for our Sixth Formers to hear guest speakers identify how networking skills have helped build and shape their professional life and offer advice on how best to go about it.

We are always keen to welcome alumnae, parents and other supporters to school to share their knowledge and experience with our current students.

Year 10 Careers Conference

This annual conference is held in the Spring Term. It focuses on a particular range of professions and is a fantastic opportunity for our Year 10 students to hear from speakers and participate in workshops to gain information on further education options and potential careers.  Information picked up here will help them make final selections for A Level courses and beyond.

Past conferences have focused on careers in STEM subjects, medicine and the creative industries.

Please email development@redmaidshigh.co.uk to get involved to run a session or provide information on your profession.

Festival of Ideas

For this annual week-long, summer event our students come ‘off timetable’ to take part in themed activities which include guest speakers, external trips and creative projects

In previous years, activities have centred on themes such as Conflict and Imagination and (in 2017) Journeys

Please email development@redmaidshigh.co.uk to hear more about next year’s theme and identify how you can get involved.
